SYCSA is a non-profit making, charitable organization, run by volunteers. It was founded in the 1970's to teach people from Somerset or beyond to sail.
Our objects are "To provide training and recreational facilities, which promote and encourage the sport of sailing and practises of good seamanship among the people mainly - but not exclusively - of Somerset, for the purpose of advancing their education and in the interests of social welfare within the meaning of the Recreational Charities Act 1958".
In 2011 the RYA awarded us full Volvo Champion Club status to add to our OnBoard gained in 2010.
We are also a RYA Sailability Foundation club.

SYCSA welcomes all ages ( 6- to 70+ ) and abilities (able bodied and disabled).
