As the end of the season approached

• RYA Racing Coach Duncan West
• and Tony Wright a successful racing sailor from Durleigh
  • put 12 young sailors through their paces at 2 race training sessions .
• Duncan’s racing experience allowed him to give advice and information to the youngsters, which he delivered in a friendly, humorous manner.
• The youngsters received expert advice and support from the Coaches onshore then took to the water for a series of fun events and close formation sailing.

• The sessions ended with a serious series of races, which was won by Lisa Hodge who is one of the younger SYCSA Instructors . Tom Darlington came a close second in the race series. Lisa is seen in second place in the Pico behind Tom in one of the races.

• • The sessions were so successful all agreed they should be repeated next season.” All had a great time and gained some valuable experience towards future racing events.

Same again next year was the verdict of the youngsters!
