December 2008 saw SYCSA take delivery of a new red Topper dinghy.
The dinghy was presented to SYCSA in recognition of their work in the community, particularly amongst young people.
The funds for the new dinghy, trolley and cover were raised by the Bridgwater Masonic Lodge, 275 Committee to celebrate their 275 anniversary.
Pete Branson (Chair of SYCSA) is seen taking the dinghy over from John Knight (Worshipful Master, Tynte Lodge), Stuart Hadler (Assisstant Provincial Grand Master for Somerset), Steve Williams (Worshipful Master, Admiral Blake Lodge) and Trevor Thomas (Worshipful Master, Lodge of Perpetual Friendship).
SYCSA and it's young sailors thank the 275 Committee for its generosity and look forward to using the new kit in 2009.
With the acquisition of the Topper yet more of our
"Beyond Fleet 2000" project is achieved.
