Flaming July 2006, what a magnificent month.

In the heat of the baking sun in July 2006, SYCSA competed with the World Cup, Wimbledon and several other sporting events to achieve a set of amazing results:

8 adults successfully completed an RYA Level 2 "Basic Skills" course;

8 young sailors from Otterhampton School successfully completed their RYA Youth Stage 1 "Start Sailing" course. They so much fun that some of the group continued to sail with the Saturday Club after their course had finished.

12 Richard Huish College students from Taunton successfully completed an RYA Adult Level 1 "Start Sailing" course. 4 of the group also achieved Level 2 "Basic Skills".

13 Lady beginners and 7 women instructors had a great time sailing on the postponed Ladies only evening.

Over 90 voracious young sailors and their parents ate heartily at the annual SYCSA BBQ

and

over 35 SYCSA members had a great time sailing out of the Mountbatten Centre at Plymouth on our annual tidal Instructor training week.
