• SYCSA would like to thank:

  Gerber Foods Soft Drinks Ltd of Bridgwater for their most generous donation of £1,500 to sponsor new sails for 4 Wayfarer dinghies.

SYCSA would also like to thank the sailmaker Hyde Sails Ltd, who gave SYCSA a substantial discount.

The sails we officially handed over on 23rd September by Gerber Operations Director John Steels to Pete Branson, Chair of SYCSA.

John, who is an experienced sailor, took the opportunity to try the sails, by navigating a Wayfarer around the reservoir accompanied by Barry Darlington, SYCSA Chief Instructor.

After the sail John commented that he was "delighted that Gerber could help and by the number of people who will benefit from the new sails".

This is the second cash injection made by Gerber to SYCSA for new sails. Pete Branson thanked John Steels for his company's support and commented "people forget that sails wear out and need replacing, these generous donations will breathe new sailing into a lot of sailors lives".
