Within one October week in 2008, five members of SYCSA's volunteer team reached their 50th birthday. They are:

Sian Sedgwick-Wilde (Saturday Club Manager) and her husband Pete Sedgwick (Chief Powerboat Instructor),

Joy York (Assistant Saturday Club Manager),

Steve Salter (Assistant Instructor) and his wife Nicola.

The photograph shows them receiving their birthday gifts from SYCSA.

Not long after that, Barry Darlington (Chief Dinghy Instructor) launched his own new Comet Trio. He is being assisted here by Tom his son.
