Our first project "Fleet 2000" was supported by many sponsors including Sport England. It enabled SYCSA to enhance it's fleet of dinghies and begin it's recovery.

The new facilities created an increase in demand for sailing, hence we needed to extend our horizons into our second project:

"Fleet 2000 and beyond"

This project to broaden our sailing fleet began in 2000 and ended in 2007. We were able to plough back moneys made from our courses and gain further financial support from local firms including British Nuclear Fuels Ltd, Gerber Foods and Soft Drinks Ltd, GE Elfun, O2 and Sedgemoor District Council.

The success of this project created demand for excellence and a wider sailing experience from our sailors. Inevitably we had to launch our third project in 2008:

"Beyond Fleet 2000"

To meet the new demand for training and racing opportunities, we needed to improve our facilities by adding new dinghies. This project was supported by Viridor Credits Environmental Company, Sedgemoor District Council, Bridgwater Masons 275 Committee and Magnox South Energy Solutions.

Having focused on fleet enhancement for 10 years, in 2009 while continuing with "Beyond Fleet 2000" we decided we needed to broaden the spectrum of people who used our facilities by targeting the disadvantaged, disabled and more able youngsters in our local community. We therefore launched our fourth project in 2010.

"Enable Youth"

This project involved adding 2 performance dinghies and small sails for some of our existing dinghies.

SYCSA thanks all of its generous sponsors for their support of our successful project.

We look forward to working with you again on our future projects.
