RYA National Sailing Scheme

For beginners there will be a Level 1/2 course on the dates below.

Level 1: Start Sailing typically takes 4 sessions to complete

Level 2: Basic Skills typically takes 5/6 sessions after Level 1

For improvers 5 different courses are available on the dates below, each course typically takes 5/6 sessions to complete:

• Level 3: Better Sailing

Then:

• Advanced Module: Seamanship Skills
• Advanced Module: Sailing with Spinnakers
• Advanced Module: Performance Boat
• Advanced Module: Start Racing

• Saturday's 14.00 to 17.00
  • Dates
    • Sept 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
    • Oct 6th, 13th, 20th

In order to offer this variety we have had to limit the places available on each course, we advise you to book now

The cost of all courses is:

• £35 per session or
• £110 if you book a Level 1 course
• £140 if you book a Level 2 course
• £140 if you book a Level 3 or Advanced Module courses

• You can come to one of these sessions to try sailing (provided the Course has spaces),
• By attending all sessions you will cover the RYA syllabus at the appropriate Level.

• This course provides appropriate tuition for you to progress:
  • to Level 1
  • and from Level 1 to Level 2
  • or from Level 2 to Level 3
  • or from Level 3 to an Advanced Module
  • however progression is dependent on sailing experience and the skills you develop on the course.

• If you are a beginner, you will start by working towards RYA Level 1,
• If you have already achieved Level 1, you will revise Level 1 skills, then work towards Level 2.
• If you have achieved Level 2 and wish to extend your skills to RYA Level 3 or an Advanced Module, this is the course for you.
• If you attended the Level1/2 June course, your skills will be revised and extended into new areas.

• We will provide a course handbook which covers all of the required theory of sailing
• You will get a personal progress chart for your Instructor to record your achievements
• Life jackets are provided.
• Advanced booking is essential.

• Warm drinks are included in the cost.
