Courses for adults in 2012

@ Durleigh Reservoir, Bridgwater Advanced booking is essential.

 

These courses are run in conjunction with Durleigh Sailing Club.

The course is designed to be fun as well as teaching you to improve your sailing skills. We would be delighted if you continued sailing with Durleigh Sailing Club after the course.

RYA National Sailing Scheme

For improvers 5 different courses are available on the dates below.

Each course typically takes 5 or 6 sessions to complete.

The following Level 3 and each Advanced Module course takes at least 16 hours to complete.

We teach you the sailing skills and expect you to spend sometime at home consolidating the background theory.

Then:

• Advanced Module: Seamanship Skills
• Advanced Module: Sailing with Spinnakers
• Advanced Module: Performance Boat
• Advanced Module: Start Racing

Saturday's 14.00 to 17.00

• Dates
  • May 26th
  • June 2nd, 9th,16th, 23rd, 30th
  • July 7th
  • Sept 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
  • Oct 6th, 13th, 20th

   

• £35 per session or
• £140 if you book a Level 3 or Advanced course

• You should already have achieved Level 2, through an earlier course and spent sometime consolidating your skills on the water.
• You will work towards completing Level 3.
• You can then take an Advanced Module.
• You can come to one of these sessions and have a try, or by attending typically 4 sessions cover the RYA Level 3 syllabus.
• Each Advanced Module takes typically a further 4 sessions to complete.

• We will provide a course handbook which covers all of the required theory of sailing
• You will get a personal progress chart for your Instructor to record your achievements
• Life jackets provided.
• Warm drinks included.
